My name is Will and I am the communications director and I am going to tell you about class economy.
Class economy is fun because it is like your everyday life as an adult.
Another reason that class economy is fun is because you have jobs and you get money then you have to use that money to pay for your desks. Another way to get money is to do the reading log. You have to read for 30 minutes each day and your total has to be 3 hours and 30 minutes or more for the week.
You can also get $1,200 dollars for filling out a sheet of your extracurricular activities.
You also have jobs like bankers. Bankers have a job that gets paid a lot but they have to be responsible and it is very hard to be a banker. You can have a harder job and get more money or you can have a not hard job and have to get less money.
You also have a folder that keeps all your money and has all the things/money. We also have natural disasters which is when you or your table group has to pay an amount of money.
Parents and family members are encouraged to talk about the class economy at home. Many students are seeing their impulses getting in the way of their long term goals. For example, a number of students are taking part in the auction.
When the bid on an object and win, they no longer have enough money to pay their fines and /or their rent.
This month we saw 9 students purchase their desks. Business will also launch in Brufftopia, more information will be coming out regarding the update. How many more students will purchase their desks next month?
Finally, thank you parents for your continued support in the long term project: the classroom economy. As I mentioned at Curriculum Night, the classroom economy takes a lot of effort and it wouldn’t be possible if the students were not engaged. I appreciate all you are doing at home to encourage participation.
