Check out all we have discovered during the science unit! Over the past 2 weeks, students learned: about Earth’s materials, how rocks and minerals are effected by erosion and weathering, the rock cycle, and so much more.
Blog Post Written by Year 5 Brufftopians Tuesday, October 31, 2017, Mr. Bruff’s class went to Whipple Hill for a field trip. The students were very excited. They learned a lot about erosion, weathering, and the many different kinds of rocks on Whipple Hill.
This week Brufftopians are investigating Earth’s materials. They have learned Earth’s materials include rocks, water, sand, decayed plants, gold, and salt. During the most recent science lesson, Brufftopians entered small groups to feel, smell, and test 7 different minerals.
The Paper Airplane Guy came to Bowman to share engineering, technology, and design. John Collins, has been around the globe sharing his love of paper airplanes. He has been seen on Conan O’Brian and he holds the World Record for the longest paper airplane thrown.
Thank you chaperones. As I mentioned to you all at the end of the field trip, you are all saints. We really appreciated you taking the time out of your day to join us on the field trip. Many of you shared laughs, learning and near falls into mud.
