Changes in dismissal are inevitable. Students go on play dates and there are changes at work. Let’s not forget after school activities go through their own cycles. Be sure to send your child to school with a note. Written in the note should be clear expectations of your child’s dismissal plan for the day.
Change In Dismissal Note
If you plan to have your child change their dismissal plan before they arrive at school, send your child to school with a note detailing the change. Students will give me, Mr. Bruff, the change in dismissal notice.
I’ll read the note.
“Mr. Bruff, My child _____________ will be taking the bus (and the number, please), walking, going to rolling car, or will be picked up early.
Signed ________.”
Next, I will hand the note back to the student.
The student will clip their change in dismissal note to the Change in Dismissal Whiteboard.
The student will then write their change in dismissal on the whiteboard.
It will ensure if they go to the correct place for pickup.
Emergency Change in Dismissal
If you have a change in dismissal that needs to made during the school day, please call the office. I spend most of my day in front of the students. Often it’s because I am in the midst of a mini lesson, in a meeting, in a small group or doing one on one with a student. Regardless, it is hard for me to check email during the day. The office is the best way to change your child’s dismissal plans during the school day. You can reach the main office to Bowman at 781.861.2500.
Final Take Away
With the entire school emptying, the last thing anyone would want is to be in the wrong place for pick up. Please review the procedure for a change in dismissal with your child.
