The past three weeks have been madness. The time could also be described as reading bliss. In the classroom, in the hallways, and in the bus lines students debated books. As I look about the classroom, I realize the best way to describe the past 3 weeks would be: Brufftopia’s March Book Madness.
As a teacher, I was thrilled to hear lively discussions about characters and author’s intentions. By the end of the championship round I thought Percy Jackson and Auggie were real people and bff’s with my students.
Looking through the madness, it is easy to forget the books that did not advance. Let’s look back to the many great titles that were nominated for the tournament.
