They had seen the roof of the granary tower fall and crush someone. Every River Raider inside the castle walls heard the death curdling scream and dropped their food sacks

As the leader of the River Raiders, Theo wouldn’t back down. He looked Jailen in the eyes and said, “You want to give the food back. Be my guest. Make sure you tell the soldiers it was your idea to steal the food when everyone was helping with the granary roof. Tell the khan we were once farmers that worked the fields, we harvested the food, and the khan sent soldiers to collect the food without asking if we have enough food for the winter.”
