We’ve all read a book that brought us through ups and downs. Those are the books you recommend to your best friends. Some books make us question everything we know about how stories are written, who the bad guys are, and who the bad guys are supposed to be. Those are the books your recommend to strangers on the street (just a phrase, I do not recommend you meet strangers on the street).
The False Prince, by Jennifer A.Nielsen, is one of those books that will have you shouting from the rafters about the plot twists. Although I do not recommend it, you’ll be tempting to skip to the end of book to quickly figure out how things are going to turn out.
Without offering any spoilers there are a few things that will help you digest this incredible story. The main character, Sage, is an orphan. Before you start to feel sorry for him there are some things you should know. Sage is a thief, a liar, an unruly young man, and he is a cheat. Sage meets a nobleman, Conner.
How will a story about such a vibrant, diabolical, and spirited character be entertaining when he meets a nobleman? Imagine Sage is recruited by Conner to impersonate a long lost prince who will keep the kingdom from falling into chaos! Incredible, huh? Does Conner have good intentions to save the kingdom on his mind or is he hoping to have a puppet as the future king?
If you are thinking this book is for you, then you are in for a treat.
