Ron Miles, a custodian at Bowman elementary school, climbs up to the roof with a ladder three to four times a school year “when [students] ask me.”
Once on the roof Mr. Miles finds extraordinary items, not just balls but even shoes! When there is a piece of equipment (or a shoe) on the roof Mr. Miles throws it over the side of the building, however he makes sure no one is under him. Mr. Miles also clears snow from the roof in the winter.
Although it is some trouble to move the ladder, Mr. Miles enjoys going on the roof, he says, “It’s something different”. Mr. Miles is not the only janitor to go on the roof, in fact all of the janitors at Bowman do.
